Ang Bey- Co-Artistic Director
Ang Bey (they/them/theirs) is a black, queer storyteller. A renaissance-person, they have been accoladed for their work as an actor, playwright, producer, and activist. They have worked with Shakespeare in Clark Park, Interact Theatre Company, Simpatico Theatre,Theatre Horizon, Philadelphia Young Playwrights, and Sundance Institute to name a few. They are a playwright in the inaugural cohort of Jouska Play Works with Simpatico Theatre Company. Taylor Cawley- Curator
Taylor Cawley (they/them) is a theatre and performance artist residing in West Philly, hailing from southern New Jersey. Taylor's work with Shoe Box began by playing Rosemary in Brainpeople, followed by "America" in Amerika, and Athena in The Medusa Play. Their original piece, Cerulean (devised with their creative partner, Kate Sparacio) also appeared in the 2019 Shoe Box Theatre Fest. Somewhere along the way, Taylor became an official member of the collective. They have also acted other places and done other stuff. Taylor is trans, witchy, and dedicated to making art that is collaborative, vulnerable, curious, animalistic, and magical.

Ryan RebeL- Co-Artistic Director, Resident Director
Ryan Rebel (he/him) is co-founder and Artistic Director of Shoe Box Theatre Collective. He is a Philadelphia-based director, writer, teacher, technician, actor, and dramaturg. His work is committed to challenging the status quo of systemic inequity and artistic norms. Each year he produces the Shoe Box Short Theatre Festival, a supportive experimental showcase for diverse local and regional talent. He has directed or assistant directed professionally with Shoe Box, the Arden, Bryn Mawr College, and Revamp Collective. He is especially proud of his four full-length productions: The Medusa Play, Brainpeople, WILD - A Clown Western, and Macbeth. Kevin Sommerville (he/him) is an artist and musician from Philadelphia. He has been involved in the Shoebox Theatre Collective from the inception, and thankful to be a part of this community allowing true artistic expression to thrive.
