Venice Island's New Musical Series!

You Are Mine, a new musical written by Susan Cinoman, based on the music of Maia Sharp, takes place in a suburban apartment shared by co-workers at the Copper Door Bar and Restaurant. Maryanne, the hostess, is preparing for her first date with Dani, the local Subaru dealer, while obsessing over her ex, Tracy, a Manhattan sophisticate. Meanwhile, her roommate, young Heidi, an insecure waitress, is trying to repress her feelings for Vogel, the poetic dishwasher, who is off to college in the fall. Sue, the lifer- waitress and Jerry, the in- recovery cook, fight relentlessly but secretly can’t live without each other.

The soulful and rocking music of Maia Sharp underscores the theme of letting go of the past while new love develops. Though wages are minimum, friendship is of maximum value.
