The Shoe Box Short Theatre Festival is a place to fine tune some of the pieces you are working on or to creatively push the constraints of the proscenium theater engaging our audience with the unique immediacy of live theatre.
From dance, adaptation to devising, to scripted work to new play development The Shoe Box Short Theatre Festival is committed to strengthening the Philadelphia Theatre community at large by offering a high-tech venue and technical assistance for theatre makers at any stage of their artistic development.

Have a 20 minute or less scene, song, or dance you’re working on? Submit a piece to our Shoe Box Short Theatre Festival and put it in front of an audience. We can't wait to see what you're working on!
Submissions are now being accepted on a rolling basis until February 20, 2026
Some more information ...
Shoe Box Theatre Collective will work with you on rehearsal spaces. The space and technical elements onsite are yours free of charge, but you must provide the script, actors and director for your own piece as well as assisting in marketing your event and encouraging the audience there to stay and enjoy other pieces.
